Mega attempts from ramireschat.com and "amipleadmitle"

We're seeing thousands upon thousands of attempts by a few spambots, from specific email addresses, namely "*@ramireschat.com" and "amipleadmitle@gmail.com". Literally ten thousand or so in the last week. They use bazillions of long auto-generated names like:

freegovernmentbusinessgrants
companiesthatdonateproductinpa
burndesertephedraephedra
governmenteducationgrants_vlu
blackicewithephedra

etc etc etc.

We're thinking this is an attempt to poison the database, but it isn't going to work since we score them mostly on IP, email, and domain (not on the user name). It appears other sites are getting loads of them too. We're almost wondering if it's worth the trouble to log them since a hit on the IP or domain will catch them. Pointless spambots (sigh).

I'd personally recommend blocking them, if for nothing else than showing 'em how useless their bots are, hehe

Yeah, I've cut them out of the logging because we have 'em on record already. I'm sure they're still banging away, but I've blocked them from the board so they don't even have a chance to register. Bots are just plain stupid, lol.
