I don't need help, but I carefully went through my manually-banned accounts on my SMF forum and found 8 entries not in your database, so I thought I'd post it here so you can check or update the BotScout database.

I don't have a lot of volume on my forums, but in 30 minutes, you stopped two attempts. Thank you!

Welcome, and thank you for this, ScriptNurse!

I'm glad we stopped some bots on your site, we love to hear that. :)

We're working on a user-submitter so people can add records themselves. The 3 things we need are the bot email, the bot IP, and the name the bot tried to use. The date is also handy, but we can do without it if necessary. Would you by any chance have the names these bots tried to use when they signed up?

idk why i have followed the directions in the installation and preoceeded to test it but it isnt working correctly the only step I couldnt do is uncmment the line that cooresponds to the board im using. I couldnt find a line that stated that Is this because I am using the SMF specific download? any help would be appriciated. Im not sure what other info would be useful to you. Thx in advance for any suggestions.

Also I wanted to say ty for providing this service.

If you're using the SMF package you shouldn't need to uncomment anything, it should just install and start working.

When you say it isn't working, how do you know it's not working??

I added the line in the register.php and added the botscout.php file to the sources folder and made the line in register.php point to it

to test it I took an email address from the 200 last found page and created an account using it the registration went through and the account was created as usual

I would suggest turning on the debug mode and see if you're getting any error messages, and also make sure you're getting a response from the interface.

I have got it working now I had to delete the modifications I made and do the install using the package manager in SMF I tested two emails and it comes up with the error "registration has been disabled" or something similar I appriciate this service an will be installing the fake form server you provide here. This is a honeypot I would guess. I think you should add to the readme that the package can be installed using the package manager in SMF rather than the instructions provided. This program has many of the bots I have got on my forums and I am in full support it. Anything I can do to help this program grow I am more than willing to do thx for providing it.

Outstanding, glad you got it working!   :)

The Fake Form Server is still in Beta test and won't be ready for a little while, but we'll let you know once it's available.

As for what you can do to help, just spreading the word about the site would be all we could ask for.
